Center Parcs Sauerland Winterberg-Medebach

Well maintained apartments. Nice restaurants and convenient shops. Lovely and clean pool area with slides. Excellent entertainment for the kids and even for the parents! Beautiful common areas with tropical vibe!

The cleaning of the apartments was poor. Dust covering all surfaces, cob webs, dust and debris in the corners of the floors, stained sofa, filthy decorative cocoons (better without them!), dirty dishes and hob, all door handles and the ones on the kitchen cabinets had finger marks. Filthy blinds. Perhaps the cleaning staff doesn't get enough time for cleaning. No towels on arrival. We had to take them from reception. A family of 5 has to take a 6 person apartment rather than 5. There is no option for an extra bed or a sofa bed for a young child aged 5. This is no good as too many families are 5 and it is not worth paying a lot more for a bed you won't use!

The park is huge and nicely arranged. The houses are well maintained, nicely furnished, good equipped and very clean. The facilities in the park are great for children and the ski slopes are just a 20 mins car drive away.

We had a house at the other end of the park which was a walking distance of 15 mins. Understandably there are no cars allowed in the park during the stay (you can go in for check-in and check-out) which created quite an effort. You can rent kind of golf cars which are 120,- EUR per day.

Had a great time! Place was large and most of all very light due to all the large windows. Great view. Decorated in modern colours. (It has a Dutch feel to it). Checking in was very efficient via a booth in the parking area. A plastic green "watch" with a chip functions as a key to the cottage, the swimmingpool, the spa, the lockers and as a wallet for paying for drinks or items in the shops. We booked a place for 4, just for the two of us, however, it would have also hosted 4 people easily. We hosted a brief gathering of 9 people without a problem. It had two spacious bathrooms including a comfortable shower. The Swimmingpool is fun, more for families with children than for couples who need a rest or want to swim longer distances. However, the tropical surroundings and the warm temperatures gave it a comfortable feeling. The spa is more for couples. It has a good number of different saunas and a salt room. (Bring your own soap). The spa costs extra but it is worth it. Going for dinner is possible too. Despite the large crowds, we received our food fairly quickly. Cooking is no problem. The kitchen comes well-equipped. The centre also has a supermarket with a small bakery. The animation team got everyone dancing and singing, the kids screaming. Hilarious to watch. The setting, in the middle of a large green park but not too far from the village, is just perfect. In short, we had a great time.

Check out time is 10am. Be aware: your watches will not work after that. Anyone who is still loading the car may be surprised to find him/herself locked out. The cleaning brigade may already knock on the door at 9:45am. Although, this is legally all correct, it did feel a little like... being kicked out/holiday is over. My recommendation: add 45min to the key-time and we all end our stay with the same smile that we had throughout.

it is really over expensive! other self catering places you get alot more. the pools was the only moneys worth for the rest of the park you need to pay for everything. and the i doors “play area” is a let down! pictures not the same as reality. the outdoor play areas are nice but if it is cold and wet the only play area are inside you need to pay for it. the park is around 20km away from the winterberg slopes it is not close by. really overprised
