GBWe chose this hotel as a half way stop between leaving home and our destination, expecting to get a good night's sleep. With research we looked online at the menu to check we would be able to have a good evening meal.
Told menu off that night and only pizzas on offer. Entertainment was on and bar was packed. One gentleman was drunk and very offensive. Banging on his table and staff did nothing. The bar was supposed to close at 12 but continued after and my sister was told they had an extension which we knew nothing about. No way could we have a good night's rest before the rest of our journey. The beds were uncomfortable too. Shower not very clean and no hot water at sink. Breakfast included was continental and not really a continental and no staff around to talk to in the morning, just a key drop. Well we were going to book a hotel on our return journey but this experience put us off altogether.

Booked a Tuesday night stay arrived to be informed bymessages no food or bar facilities available on a Monday and Tuesday night. Phoned number on Web site and also emergency number provided. (3 calls screenshot of phone log available to confirm this) No other facilities available in the villiage. We have been trying for 5 days to contact the property for a refund. Booking. Com just keep saying property need to refund. I'm a genius level 3 member no one is helping. I have e mailed, messaged and phoned this property. Information on booking. Com does not inform of no facilities. Do not book a Monday or Tuesday stay. I am still waiting for a refund. One very unhappy customer

CZa nice local inn on the outskirts of a town, just behind a church with a picturesque graveyard - a lovely place with a very British atmosphere, and with memorabilia of the famous local hero: the car racer Jim Clark
