The Diplomat Hotel Restaurant & Spa

The staff were welcoming. Our room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent and we were looked after by Liz, who is really an asset. We would book here again.

While I only stayed for one night, the staff were really friendly and the room was well appointed and immaculately clean. Bed was comfy although perhaps a little too soft for my liking - not the hotel's fault that though!! Bar area is nice and relaxed, and they do a good merlot :-)

The window in the room was quite draughty, heavy winds on the night meant that at times it was a little noisy, could do with resealing. Other than that, can't think of anything

Das Personal war freundlich und bemüht. Die kostenfreie Parkmöglichkeit direkt beim Hotel ist angenehm. Das Zimmer war groß und ruhig.

Der Wellnessbereich ist wenig ansprechend. Als Hotelgast kann man die Sauna, das Dampfbad und den kleinen Pool ohne Aufpreis nutzen, was positiv hervorzuheben ist. Aber... Man erhält an der Rezeption im Wellnessbereich lediglich ein Badetuch, einen Bademantel und Badeschuhe erwartet man vergeblich; ein nicht zeitgemäßer Umstand, vor allem dann nicht, wenn der Wellnessbereich explizit als inkludierte Leistung erwähnt wird. Im Dampfbad befanden sich am Boden mehrere tote Regenwürmer. Der Mitarbeiter entfernte diese gleich nach dem wir ihm dies mitgeteilt hatte, dennoch ist so etwas ein No-Go. Die wenig einladenden Liegen und der Ruhebereich sind direkt beim Pool, der Sauna und dem Dampfbad. Entspannung kommt hier nicht auf. Hier sind Verbesserungen erforderlich. Das Abendessen war in Ordnung, dass ich aber erst bei der Bestellung daraufhin gewiesen wurde, dass das von mir gewünschte Gericht nicht verfügbar ist, deutete nicht gerade auf ein gutes Service hin. Das Frühstück war auf unserer einwöchigen Reise durch das südliche Wales das schlechteste. Kaffee und Orangensaft einfach nur traurig. Das restliche Angebot in Bezug auf Präsentation, Geschmack und Auswahl ebenfalls.

Staff were very helpful and the whole experience was worth the visit, will be revisiting.

Hotel generally good, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good with broad range of food offering. Eggs cooked by request if you didn't want fried. Spa was ok, gym good plenty of equipment. Pool good but quite small. Steam room was one of the best I have been in in terms of steam generation, excellent. Terrace area with motorised screens was brilliant, lively area to sit after dinner. Room ok, decent size. Overall lovely stay. Clearly the hotel puts lots of effort into running events.

Pool small and some areas needed a bit of TLC. Small amount of tiles crumbling in corner of steam room and shower controller has a large bolt in to use as a lever, aesthetics but should be addressed. Main issue we had was the exceptionally warm weather that resulted in our first room allocation being unbearably hot, 32°C. Fan brought in but not a cooling fan,made no difference. We requested another room which was on the ground floor and in a different wing of the hotel, which was cooler 26°C. Staff were very helpful and resolved the situation to the best of their abilities. Longer term if temperatures continue to be regularly this temperature the hotel mgmt must look at AC. We could not have slept in the original room.

Love the old school opulent feel of the hotel. There was always someone at the reception and the breakfast was cooked extremely well. Used the pool every morning and steam room too. Amazed it's only three star.

we stayed during the heatwave and there's no air conditioning in the room we had. Just a personal thing, the bed mattresses were way too bouncy for my liking.

Room is nice and spacious, breakfast was really good, staff very friendly and welcoming.

Staff are exceptionally attentive really paying attention to their guests and making extra effort to engage. We will always stay here when visiting family.
