"Superb"

Kuretake Inn is always a good value for money. This hotel in Shizuoka wasn't an exception: free breakfast (although it gets a bit crowded in the morning), communal bath (with sauna too), happy hours with free drinks. The room was good for a solo traveller as well. It is located some ten minutes away from Shizuoka station on foot, and there is a local train line station nearby (Hiyoshicho).

Nothing to complain about. The staff struggles with English a little bit, but they still do their best to accomodate everyone.

Onsen, snacks for the kids, staff were helpful, very clean.

Hard to enter the room due to the tight entrance way. Pillows very hard. Local shops closed before we could eat dinner and dinner at hotel had closed at 8pm

The hotel offers one complimentary drink for each guest, as well as free ice cream and curry rice around 6:00 PM, but the curry rice runs out quickly and no refill. We did not have a chance to try the curry rice. The breakfast is nice but can be very crowded. It's about an 8-minute walk to Shizuoka Station and a 3-minute walk to a convenience store. There are electric kettle and humidifier in room.

There are only about 20 parking spaces in the hotel. We arrived at the hotel at around 6:00 PM, but there was no parking space available. The hotel front desk asked us to park in the public parking lot across the road and told us to provide the parking space number so that they could prepare the ticket for our car's exit. The hotel charges us JPY 1,250 for parking, while the public parking lot charges only JPY 990 for a day. So, if you can’t find a parking space at the hotel, you can simply find a space across the road and save JPY 260.
