"Good value budget hotel"

The hotel is close to the bahnhof and is easy to find. The room is good value, but I didn't take the breakfast option, so can't comment on that. Very quiet area during the night. Hattingen is nicely located with tram connections to Bochum and frequent S-bahn trains to Essen and the Spiel. It's altstadt is rather pretty, but I didn't get to see much due to the cold, wet weather.

The stairway is fairly steep and narrow, the room is a little dated and cramped, and during cold weather some source of heating would be nice.
