We have traveled extensively during the past two years, and therefore, we have learned what to look for before choosing a hotel. I would have never thought of asking a hotel that is listed on Booking.com, and having airconditioning as one of their "amenities" on Booking's and the hotel's website, WHETHER or not the A/C is available 24 hours per day? We checked in on Sept. 16 at around 5pm. The hotel is attractive, modern and everything seemed fine during the check-in (the receptionist was very kind and professional). When we got to our room we realized that the A/C was off and the temperature in the room was just around 80 degrees F. I switched the A/C on and lowered the temperature. After about 20 mins. nothing had changed. I will not dwell on the many details of what ensued, but the short of it is that the hotel CLAIMS that the municipality of L'Aquila restricts the hotel (a PRIVATE BUSINESS) from running A/C (AND also HEATING in the winter) as needed. "Only from 6pm to 9pm" I was told. We left for dinner and returned around 10pm. Upon arrival the temp. was 25 celsius, now, 5 hours later it had dropped 1 degree to 24 C. and the A/C was no longer running. We tried to sleep with our window open, but unfortunately the very loud music from a live band for a wedding at the hotel, did not allow that. Bottom line: a miserable stay. Neither Booking.com nor the Hotel La Dimora del Baco on both of their websites, notify you as a prospective guest that this hotel only has airconditioning during certain (very limited) hours. I contacted Booking.com about this three (3) times but received zero response.

The staff is friendly, the breakfast very generous and the restaurant is excellent

Internet connection is a bit slow, at least in the room I was 208, but they offered me to work form the conference room which likely was available.
