Clean and modern rooms, nice view

The location is well designed and can be a good choice for families with children. It’s right by the beach, and parking is available. The staff are quite friendly. Everything you might need is conveniently located on-site. You can choose from a range of services, from three-star to five-star standards. There is a private beach, a spray park, and even a swimming pool. The breakfast is excellent, and the rooms are adequate—at least they could be… but after the glossy marketing comes the unfortunate reality of the Balkans.

As a Hungarian in Central and Eastern Europe, you’re not exactly surprised when you discover halfway through your stay that certain things are “actually not included in the package.” For example, you’re welcome to use the beach, but the sun loungers are not free. You can live with that… Then the Balkan reality really begins. The air conditioning was constantly blasting. It could only be controlled from a wall panel, and only within a limited range of 20–24°C (68–75°F). There was no sleep mode and no option to adjust the direction of the airflow. This was particularly inconvenient with a small baby in the room. In the bathroom exhaust fan was even worst. It ran continuously with a loud rumbling noise, as if they had intentionally installed a built-in white noise machine. It was extremely disturbing. On the second day, an entire German elementary school group moved into our wing of the building. Naturally, they were excited and having a great time, which is understandable. The problem was that their daily rhythm was very different from ours, so from that point on, our evenings were filled with slamming doors and children running through the corridors. As if that wasn’t enough, during the daytime on the second day, the solar panels on the roof were being cleaned. All the seagull droppings, together with the chemical cleaning water, ended up on our terrace and all over our clothes that were hanging out to dry.
