The Cross Keys Sherborne

The location was very central; the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. I can't think of a time when I've stayed somewhere and the staff were as helpful as at The Cross Keys. It wasn't just one or two staff members, it was everyone! They also had a great Jazz band in on Thursday evening - Ian Ellis Trio. They were just right for the space.

There was no free parking, and our room over the square was a bit noisy in the morning, especially when market traders were setting up their stalls on a Thursday.

The hotel is in a great location just minutes from the abbey. Our room was spacious, well furnished and very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff made our stay special as they were extremely helpful, welcoming and thoughtful. The breakfast was great- perfectly cooked and tasty local ingredients. We were even given a second cup of coffee when the staff noticed that first one had got low - exceptional service indeed. I would certainly recommend this hotel and we hope to return.

The rooms we had were beautifully furnished and decorated. Tea and coffee facilities were amazing and the beds were very comfortable. The restaurant staff were attentive and very helpful and the menu was more high cuisine than I’m use to and I wish I’d had the venison pie like my son. It looked delicious 🥰

The only things that would have been good was a working TV (I assume the batteries were flat in the remote) as we were only staying for one night we didn’t ask for it to be fixed but I did let them know in the morning and they were very apologetic.

Staff and service were fantastic, food was absolutely delicious and our room was perfect including an extremely comfortable bed and everything spotless.
