Wilson Carlile Centre

This was my second stay here. I booked for price and location. Free car parking was a bonus, although the property is close to tram and bus stops. (If driving here, be aware that Glossop Road between Regent Street and Cavendish Street is a restricted bus lane) Friendly and efficient welcome at reception. Access to accommodation blocks/corridor and room by secure key card (this also operates car park barrier. Rooms are basic, but clean. Complimentary tea/coffee tray with Yorkshire tea bags! Also, a helpful Welcome Book, with transport info etc. Free WiFi. Breakfast included in room price - yogurts/fruit/choice of 6 cereals/toast and jams/fruit juices/tea and coffee, which I enjoyed. The cafe opens at 08.00-13.45 for cooked breakfast and other hot meals/salads/cakes. I would certainly stay here again and would recommend it for anyone wanting a secure reasonably priced accommodation for exploring Sheffield and beyond. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, 10 minute walk to the City Hall, 15 minutes to the Crucible/Lyceum theatres. Close to University of Sheffield and Royal Hallamshire/Jessops and Childrens Hospitals.

Not a complaint, but this accommodation is just off West One/West Street and Devonshire Green/Division Street with its many bars and restaurants (and student accommodation) It can get quite lively into the early hours, especially at weekends. I stayed on Sunday and Monday nights, and could hear nearby revellers . I realised that I couldn't close my window catch.

Very well located, staff were extremely friendly and helpful with all questions we had, plus an early bag drop-off which helped. The rooms were quiet, very tidy and had everything needed, really great stay.

The location was great, short walk to my event in the city centre. The staff were lovely. Friendly and helpful. Tea and a kettle in the room, en-suite WC and shower, comfortable bed. I had what I needed for a very affordable rate.

The only thing this lacked was a proper breakfast. The bare basics were included in the price (toast, cereal, tea) but I would have gladly paid for a Full English. In theory that's on offer during the week but I was there over the weekend. In the end that was no real issue, I just walked 10 minutes to the Copper Pot on Division St. for my breakfast.

Room very small. No TV in room. Stayed for 3 nights and on the second day, room wasnt cleaned or tea facilities stocked up. Breakfast very basic. Due to bus lane, very difficult to get to the car park, especially between 1600/1800 where it clearly states no cars allowed.

The inclusive breakfast was very basic, as was advertised but it’s only a minor issue! There was hot breakfast available at good rates if required! The cafe was big, clean, and the people were really nice! Disappointed to learn that the place will be gone soon! Am so glad that I was able to stay in the place before this!
