Friendly staff, clean room

The property is in the middle of downtown, close to the American military base. Has parking garage under the hotel. Has a very good breakfast and a lovely atmosphere.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Place is clean and the rooms are modern. Very close to military base. Free parking.

The restaurant at the hotel is closed down and so there is no bar area or any social area at the hotel where you can sit outside of your room. No lounge area. Fine just for sleeping. The lack of an onsite restaurant is a bit of an issue because the town is pretty dead -- most storefronts are closed and there are no restaurants around. It's a very cute town and the people are friendly but it's economically depressed. Breakfast is okay but nothing special.

Hotel Berghof is one of the best things about the city of Baumholder! Sigge (the owner) and her staff: Chantal, Angelica, Elena and the rest are phenomenal. They truly want to make visitors feel comfortable, welcome and happy. The hotel has both traditional hotel rooms and apartments (if you are staying longer). The variety of lodging options is great if you are a contractor or if you are visiting someone in the area. Whether you stay in a hotel room or an apartment, you have access to breakfast every morning. This consists of German items likes breads, spreadable cheeses, cold cuts, yogurt, and fruit. Each morning the breakfast attendant also makes eggs and bacon too, which appeals to many American visitors. They have been in business a long time and they know what they are doing. If you stay in a long-term apartment weekly housekeeping is offered as well. It is a 7-minute walk to the Norma grocery store and a Kik clothing and kitchen supply store. It is also a 12-minute walk to the front gate of the US military base, in case you happen to be in town for that.

The door locks on the doors were very hard to manage.
