Gelov Hotel

Spacious apartment very close to the city centre. Friendly staff.

Some of the furniture was old and not very comfortable. We couldn't pay by card.

Overall a lovely experience. Clean, warm, well positioned hotel with good facilities including it's own restaurant and friendly staff.

Hard unsupportive mattress. l am used to a memory foam one and this was a fairly hard spring one.Having said that,they are the standard here.Could just be my pampered western back.......

Breakfast was okay.

Family-run hotel. However the family was missing during our stay. It started upon the arrival. The young lady at the reception desk did not know which rooms we had reserved via booking.com. After a phone call to presumably the owner, this was resolved. Then we had to learn that the restaurant was not available that evening for hotel guests due to a party. We had chosen this hotel for the restaurant after a whole day of flying from Belgium and driving. Later we noticed that in one of the two rooms there was no water for the toilet. From bad to worse: when we wanted to take a shower in the same room we found that there was only water coming from the tap but not from the shower head. The knob was broken off and you could clearly see that this had not been done the day before by the previous guest. At the reception no one to be found to solve these problems presumably because of the party.

Extremely friendly stuff, very good breakfast in the garden, spacious and very clean rooms. Recommended

Received confirmation of booking and went to check-in (during check-in hours) but all doors were locked and I couldn’t gain access to the hotel. There was no answer to my phone call and no response to my message sent on the Booking.com app. Had to then find alternate accommodation at the last minute in a smallish town where there weren’t many other options. Don’t risk booking unless you have a back-up plan.

they write that the reception is open 24 hours but when we went there the boss wasn't there but a cleaning lady who didn't know about the reservation or how to pay
