The Old House

The breakfast and the location are marvellous. The staff go out of their way to assist one, and the restaurant food is superb. The addition of a fridge for guests to use is a great help.

We unfortunately chose the wrong time to visit, as the funfair was there and it was also a week of festivities to celebrate a famous Bulgarian who lived in Oryahovo. We actually enjoyed the funfair and all the stalls, and the performances on the stage on the square, but what we did not like was the terrible noise that often went on all night from functions at various venues nearby with music blaring out until five or even six o'clock next morning making it almost impossible to sleep! In my opinion this town needs the same sort of anti noise rules that other towns in Bulgaria have established, where no loud noise is permitted from 2 to 4 pm, or after 10 pm, and we found it is quite strictly enforced in those towns.

The staff go out of their way to assist with luggage and are extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. They are just fantastic people! The location is right next to the main square in the centre of the little town, close to all shops and other restaurants, banks, and the weekly market is held right behind the property. The restaurant is open from 08:00 until quite late in the evenings and serves superb food at good prices. The daily breakfast is outstanding. There is a lovely viewpoint just above the property, and from there one can see the Danube way below and over into Romania on the opposite side of the river. The room is a very good size and has adequate cupboard and work space, and the shared lounge and bathroom are also large and well equipped. The Wi-Fi is excellent, and the TV has adequate channels. There is a good sized fridge in the lounge area for guests to use.

Breakfast was a small , a small under cooked omelette 4 slices of tomatoes and a small coffee Air conditioner was broken makes too much noise to use. No bedside lamps , it's either 12 florescent tubes or nothing Curtains don't block out the light

The location is great, the house is right on the main square of Oryahovo. Also, I have seen such a spacious room. It was a huge apartment with a view to the square and two rooms for 5 people in total.

Wonderful owners and staff who helped us a lot. Great location in centre of town close to all facilities. Plenty of space to park. Very good substantial breakfasts.

A small bar fridge would be really appreciated for longer stays to keep milk, butter, cool drinks and food cold in hot weather.

Spatious room with furnishment. Quiet. View to enjoy the sunset. Very good breakfast. I would book again. Shared balcony.

For cyclists around 80 m elevation must me mastered to arrive in the Old house.
