We were a bit unsure about choosing this hotel due to mixed reviews about both the elephant well-being and the hotel itself, but we’re so glad we decided to go for it! The hotel was lovely overall. The staff were friendly, our room felt almost brand new, and it was really comfortable. We had a spacious balcony, a large bed, and a clean bathroom with a great shower - everything you’d want for a relaxing stay. There were two things that really surprised us and that no one mentioned in reviews. First, the amazing sunset experience: at dusk, thousands of bats fly out over the river in a stunning display that lasts about 15 minutes. It was such a unique and unforgettable moment for us! Second, the breakfast was fantastic. It was a huge buffet with a wide variety of options. During our two weeks in Sri Lanka, this was by far the best breakfast we had. As for the elephants, we felt they were well cared for. We chose not to ride or wash them, as we prefer to just observe them from a distance, and that approach worked really well for us. We did see a few elephants with chains, but we were told these were male elephants who tend to be more aggressive. Apparently, once they become accustomed to humans and their surroundings, they are eventually released. While we can't confirm this for sure, we really hope it's true and that the elephants are treated kindly. Overall, it was a great experience, and we're really happy with our choice.

We didn’t dislike it, but just a heads up for others. The room design might not be for everyone. There were a lot of stairs, and some doors opened in unexpected ways. The room had a lot of glass and tiles, which, while modern, can make things a bit tricky. For example, if you need to go to the bathroom in the dark, it can be a little dangerous because of the steps and the layout. We’d just recommend being careful, especially for families with young kids or older guests. It might not be the easiest or safest setup for everyone.

Начну с того, что по факту жили в отеле Hotel Elephant Park, т.к. Паналанда ( в котором было забронировано 2 номера) - это отдельное здание, на первом этаже которого ресторан. Причем ресторан к отелю не имеет никакого отношения. Вся инфраструктура- ресепшн, бассейн, завтрак проводятся именно в отеле Элефант Парк. Об этом мы конечно узнали при заселении((( Сами попросили переселить нас, и без доплат получили номер категории Фэмили. Поэтому мои оценки именно этому отелю!!!!! номер конечно измученный жизнью: стены, плитка на полу, ковролин в спальне- все нуждается в обновлении. Спасибо, что не было живности- хотя все к этому располагало)))) Единственное новое место- это сан узел, недавно был ремонт. Завтраки- не плохо, все стандартно для Шри Ланки. Вид на купание слонов конечно супер. НО! рядом есть отель, в нем вид лучше. И бассейн больше, вообщем- лучше в него)

The staff were so very helpful and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. A few additional small facilities in the room would have been nice but our stay was amazing.

We had no room service for our stay which would have been nice to have.

Krásné místo, výhled na řeku a koupající se slony nemá chybu. Snídaně vynikající, personál milý. Měly jsme vlastní auto,nabídku výletů jsme nevyužily.

Vlhkost v pokojích, ale za to může nedávný monzun.

The view

Room was dirty. Cockroach in the bathroom and I had to ask for toothbrush and toothpaste which of as not in the room.

Месторасположение отличное. Из номера вид на то, за чем едут в Пиннавеллу: река, куда выводят слонов.

Все старое, разваливается плитка, стены пошарпанные, у двери отвалилась ручка, свет работает непонятно как, полотенца и постельное белье с пятнами, летают и ползают насекомые, в санузлах плесень, кондиционеры не чистили уже очень давно (муж сам помыл фильтры), батарейки в пульте от телевизора не работают, бассейн грязный. В общем, печально, что владельцу на это наплевать и отель берет только тем, что у него такое удачное расположение. Хорошо, что у нас была забронирована только одна ночь, этого хватило) Ресторан, кстати, в целом не плохой, готовили норм. Но уже писали в комментариях: поменяйте вы элементарно хотя бы плейсматы под тарелки, ну позор же. Короче, для одной ночи сойдет (видимо так и владелец думает).
