Hotel Dorfschenke

The gentleman on reception was kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Danke schönn! The price was fair for a last minute booking, and a place to bed down. The builing has some old character about it and a few nice historical touchs inside.

I can tell this is an old building and meant for budget travel, also may be struggling to compete with other near by hotels. It was empty aside from ourselves and another guest, I think a travelling engineer. Although the beds were comfy especially after a 12 hour drive the cleanliness, especially the toilet, leave a lot to be desired. Very old urine stains and encrusted filth on the toilet seat, the floors and doors especially creaky, and a lingering cigarette smell through out the building. The hotel is showing it age with the interior floors, pain, furniture, and exterior facias, gutterings, doors and window surrounds. The location is not good for dining, especially later in an evening. I want to give aa better review as the gentleman on reception was great but the old bones of the hotel are showing and it needs some love and attention.

I tried this hotel cause DB had terrible delay and I'd did right. Hotel has nice bit Bayerische look. Floors creak a little and it looks a little spooky like something out of movie. I ordered good breakfast and than directly went to Hexen Wald. This hotel can be good point if you want spend few days from the your vacation here and travel around on a bycicle. Is located outside of the city just next to a road, but it is not noisy. Wifi is faster enough. I recomend him.

Bit soft bed for someone with 193cm/110kg but still fine.

Just what we needed. We were on the way from Munich back to England and we wanted to stop so no need to travel so long in one go. We needed a place to sleep at and being able to shower, oh and park our car. Thank you.

No negative experience.

The owner offered free use of a garage for my motorbike, which I accepted. It was quiet, although eerily so. The towels seemed freshly laundered and there was plenty of shower soap in small bottles.

It was very dark throughout, even with lights on and had probably seen much better times given the size of the place. There was no restaurant on site, or very close by. The bed/mattress was old with a very thin duvet cover, which I slept on top of, not feeling comfortable about about lying on the clean-looking, but slightly damaged, thin, mattress cover. The plastic door fell off the shower unit, onto me, whilst showering - it was barely held in place by 2 lugs. The continental breakfast on offer consisted of a choice of cornflakes or some chocolate ‘balls’ of cereal, 3 rolls, 3 pieces of sliced meat (of 3 varieties), no cheese, 2 containers of yoghurt, butter and a variety of spreads, coffee, tea on request. This was, apparently, for everyone, but I couldn’t be sure as I had booked an early breakfast - 30 minutes prior to the normal time of 08:00. Although I’m probably being harsh, I couldn’t help thinking it was rejected by the Adams Family.
