Hotel Carlota Tamarindo

Location was close to grocery store but not beaches. Bonus to have coffee maker and fridge in room and access to ice.

Wasn’t sure how to get into the property. A little confusing. We had to phone them to open gate.

We didn't use many of the facilities, because we were here only for a short night, but they seemed to have a lot to offer. It was overall clean and simple and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The main problem was the noise from the cars! I'm not sure if it was just our room that wasn't well insulated, but the hotel is located on a busy street, and the sound of cars was non-stop. The large sliding doors just weren't up for keeping that sound out. Bring earplugs if that bothers you.

Muchas gracias to the owners from Hotel Casa Carlota. The Hotel is near from Tamarindo, but you may be need a car to go there. For us it was perfect far away from the trouble. But its close to a supermarket. The room was very clean and we had enough space. You also have a fridge and a coffeemachine. We used the kitchen outdoor in the cooking area for the breakfast. There‘s also a swimmingpool, which was cleaned everyday. The owners are very friendly and they also give us good suggestions. This place is fabulous. It is really thoughtfully designed. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Communication before and during the stay was excellent and helped us to find the place in relation to bus stops. The room was very clean and modern. The bed was comfortable and both sheets and towels were fresh and white. Fridge and coffee maker provided. The bathroom was cosy, but perfectly acceptable with a good and hot shower. Plenty of shelves and hooks. The hotel grounds are very secure and there is a nice pool area plus hammocks outside the rooms. It is across the road from a supermarket, 10 minutes walk to local restaurants and a bus or taxi ride to Tamarindo itself. It is convenient enough in its location to make it a really good value stay when compared to alternatives. Highly recommended.

Just small issues and suggestions really. The design of the rooms means the patio was the only natural light into the room; but, the curtains often had to be closed for privacy. Perhaps a light inner curtain or voile would solve this. There was lots of shelf spaces but a couple of suitcase stands and some more hangers would be useful. Also, a way to indicate if cleaning is required, such as a sign for the door. Tea and milk or creamer would also be a nice addition. None of these is a reason not to stay at this wonderful place. It would be a score of 9.5 if possible.

The hotel is not actually in Tamarindo, it's in Villarreal, which is very close to Tamarindo. It has a gate, so your car and valuables will be safe. Each room has AC and hot water. Bed was comfortable and clean. There's also a swimming pool which was cleaned every day and a cooking area for guests. The owner was friendly and sent us lots of suggestions on Whatsapp. Good value for money since everything else was fully booked for the BPM festival. Close to supermarket and restaurants.

We enjoyed everything.
