The Coastal Inn OUTBUILDING

Duncan was a super guy and cooked a great breakfast. The room was warm and clean. The location was good, a short walk from Anstruther and Cellardyke.

The 'summerhouse' was 200m (measured on a smart watch) walk from the actual Inn. We didn't feel particularly safe or secure in the room - being on the side of the road, with large patio doors, anyone could just look into the bedroom. We couldn't just relax in the room unless we shut the curtains. The curtains did not fit the doors/windows properly - gaped and were not blackout. The heated towel rail in the bathroom did not work so towels stayed wet - although when we did ask about the rail we received new dry towels. But we were also told to look in the instruction manual to fix the towel rail (which we had already done)😔 Breakfast time got very busy - one morning we had to wait 50 minutes for somewhere to sit and have breakfast. The next morning we decided to leave breakfast until much later and it was fine - a much nicer experience. Instant coffee??? That is very disappointing. We would have expected to have at least a cafetiere.

Good size portion, well cooked.

There was no chair in the room to sit on, and to put your clothes over when retiring to bed.

Great location, clean room, tasty breakfast, friendly staff. Very good value for money.

Wi-Fi wasn't stable, especially in the evening.

The people running the place were very friendly

The doors were a little tricky to lock and unlock
