My sister and I arrived at 3:30 PM after traveling from Ohio and New Hampshire, expecting to stay near our uncle for a few days. Upon arrival, we found the lobby locked and were directed to a plexiglass night window with a lazy Suzan for communication. There were numerous signs about theft, trafficking, and other warnings posted throughout the lobby, which felt unusual and concerning. The websites' pictures don't show this. We used a red phone to call staff, and an employee came to unlock the door. When I asked if the area was safe, the staff member became visibly agitated and questioned why I would ask, stating it was safe. I explained my concerns were based on the signage and the setup of the night window. We requested to see a room, and while it appeared tidy, it had a strong mildew odor. Due to these factors, we felt uncomfortable and decided not to proceed with check-in. The employee informed us that we would be charged a cancellation fee since we were within the policy. I explained that our decision was not a typical cancellation, but rather due to feeling unsafe at the property. She insisted the policy had to be enforced regardless. I advised her I would contact both Choice Hotels and Expedia to provide feedback. Having worked in the travel industry for over 30 years, this is the first time I have been told onsite that a cancellation policy would be enforced for a guest who feels unsafe and dissatisfied. This approach seems inconsistent with Choice Hotels' 100% satisfaction guarantee, and I hope you will review this situation to ensure guest safety and satisfaction remain priorities.

bichos muertos en la habitación, toallas de mala calidad , si estaba remodelado pero si era 3* debiese estar mejor, no me sentí a gusto hotel ruidoso, la mucama se plasmó en mi ventana para ver si había gente (era más formal tocar la puerta) no tenía cortinas solo un roller que era necesario levantar para iluminar
