Rodeway Inn Lake Wales - Winter Haven

Well, you can tell they remodeled the place. The inside was nice but the outside exterior not so good!!! The attendant “ANA” was the BEST EVER!!! The location is next to an upcoming restaurant so it looks like a lot of different type of people hangs around the area!!! It was okay

Booked a last-minute trip to visit some friends I was traveling with my dog, which can always be a challenge. I'm generally pretty picky about the places that I stay. I'm not usually a "doors on the outside" hotel person, but my options were limited. I was EXTREMELY impressed. The staff was incredibly friendly. The room was up-to-date and immaculate. I will definitely stay here again.

We booked 2 rooms, one for 3 nights for my husband and me and requested a handicapped room and another room for 2 nights for my daughter and her kids who were coming the next day. We had called the day before to confirm the two rooms would be next to each other and were even given the two room numbers we would be staying in. When my husband and me arrived in the lobby on Thursday to check in we asked where a bathroom was and there wasn't one. They they told us our room was on the second floor. My husband told them he was handicapped and there was no way he could walk up stairs (there is no elevator). They gave us a room on the ground floor but told us the two rooms we booked would not be together (they were five rooms apart) even though we told them we had called and confirmed the day before and had been given the room numbers and they were next to each other. The bathroom was not handicapped. It had a tub but there were no grab bars at all and the tub bottom had no mat and nothing to prevent slipping. There was no smoke dectector in the room. There were two vending machines, both were non functional. My daughter and grandkids arrived the next day ( Friday) On Saturday my daughter wanted to take the kids to the pool and was informed that it was being shocked and would not be available for two days. On Sunday morning at 9:30AM we were putting stuff in our car and the guy who works there asked if we were leaving and I told him not yet we were going to breakfast and would return. We got back at 10:50AM ( checkout is 11AM) so we could do a last minute check to make sure we hadn't left anything and they had already stripped the room and had made the beds and the Do Not Disturb sign on the door was gone. The staff were always pleasant and nice to deal with. I only saw 3 staff members throughout our stay. I suppose if you are not handicapped, don't want any snacks and don't want to swim in the pool and just stay there to sleep for the night and get up and go, then this is that place. For Seniors or the handicapped the amenities aren't there

The room was very clean, modern and comfortable. The staff was great and changed our towels and empty the trash during our stay.

My only suggestion would be to add towel racks and hooks on the bathroom door. No place to put your towels or face cloths.
