staff is great and close to airport

I love decompressing at Walena after spending some days in Guajira's desert. This is my second time at Walena. I got the room I requested. Check in was flawless, cold drinks were waiting in the minibar, air conditioning was a true bless. Clean bed and towels. Large bathroom. Anna Li was very welcoming and helpful. Next day breakfast was perfect and so was the taxi to the airport

Location is a bit noisy

The best part of the stay was the breakfast options and the homemade arepas. The staff was also very nice. For the price, there are not many other options that looked better.

The biggest problem is that the hotel is on a main road so there is significant noise in the evening and early morning. Internet was very spotty. There were three routers and at times none of them worked. The bathroom had several problems - there was a leak in the line that ran water into the toilet and that kept the floor wet; and the drainage from the air conditioner goes into the shower and at times it ran onto the floor. There was also a weird column from the floor to the ceiling which made it difficult to maneuver around the room.

Great place

Breakfast was great, simple but just right. They substituted an arepa for toast for me. The AC and room were great. Not much of a view from one of the groups rooms. The other room as very nice. Staff was great.

The transportation to the airport charged us, even though it was supposedly included. Location was fine for our needs. It's in front of the city soccer stadium. It's a bit of a walk to the beach.

The room was nice and comfortable. The hotel is located near the center. Very good breakfast!

The room was generally clean but we found some hair in the bed and in the shower.
