Dye House

I liked the design of the hotel. I wanted to stay here because of its connection with Yowie, and I appreciated the furnishings were thoughtful and beautiful

I didn’t like that there was no concierge on site. I didn’t like how close the hotel was to an interstate, and that there weren’t window coverings for the tall windows. The whole experience felt cold, and slightly unwelcome.

No breakfast included - they did offer limited complementary coffee.

In-room coffee required grinding beans - not my thing and instructions were complicated, especially when I need coffee.

Location was central. Very hip and comfortable place. Need to be tech savvy to deal with the check-in and key/room service items. QR codes, website navigation, all a bit daunting for the older set, but we managed. Got the feeling this place was designed by RISD students. Would be fun for events as it seems set up for weddings, etc.

Really unique property. Easy parking and getting into building and room. Super comfortable bed and pillows with quality sheets. It was convenient to the Steel Yard where I was taking a class and to Federal Hill . I will definitely stay here again.

Has some issues with the TV stopping every 5 minutes and restarting program from the very beginning, so I just watched something on my computer.

So much attention to detail! Very pleasing aesthetic, lovely linens, close to all great restaurants.

Really interesting renovation of an old warehouse. Facilities were "industrial modern". Many of the interior features were identified by bar codes so you can research to buy (ie: the Brooklinen bedding). Room was spacious and bed was comfortable.

I probably am in the minority but having a "pour over" coffee system is somewhat inconvenient for novices. Unless you are used to the Fellows system, you need to watch a video before your first cup! UGH...Hey guys , ever hear of Nespresso? Much better choice for travelers. The location of the Dye House, in Olneyville, is a bit off the beaten track. Although it is not difficult to reach, the neighborhood is still very much under development. Its a great place to sleep but not a great place to wander. But one does appreciate the effort in the Dye House being part of an urban pioneer movement. Dye House clearly has targeted a young crowd who care about aesthetic , are used to electronics, but not as interested in on site staff. It was a perfectly fine place to stay but definitely off the beaten path.

Decent location. Very nice room, linens @ case goods

Communications errors. Booked Same day as check-in. Booking.com never emailed me key code for room (only code for building). Dye house texted me a welcome with building code but no room code. Dye house sent a later text (never received, as I was traveling & out of cell range) contained the key code. A backup email with key code would have been nice. ‘Twas 10pm and I couldn’t access my room. The Virtual concierge did returned my 10pm voicemail 30min later with my room code. Nice property/room. I just wish Dye/Booking.com built in some redundancy in messaging for the less IT savvy like myself.
