Berghotel Schynige Platte

The view is incomparable. Breathtakingly beautiful. A unique place. Clean and comfortable. The set meal was tasty and interesting the staff were efficient and we loved the Schnapps cart!

We did not realize that our room had no view at all. We knew there were no bathrooms in the rooms but they were close by and there was a sink in the room. The most challenging issue was that the elevator up to the hotel was broken and there is no elevator in the hotel itself. We were on the second floor with luggage. There are strict times for the group meals and bar openings.

Location was fantastic on mountain top with great views and train ride up was fun

Staff were flat and non responsive. Offered coffee and didn’t bring it. Wouldn’t answer calls and emails prior to stay, so we were unaware that last train left at 4 and missed it. We had to forfeit one night stay due to poor communication and they refused to refund or make any compensation.

The location is hard to better, with one of the best views in the Jungfrau Region, although you are very much weather-dependent for the view. The service was very good - I sometimes need assistance with buffets and this was given helpfully. Some rooms enjoy stunning views - mine didn’t (I booked quite late) but I didn’t have to go far to enjoy the views.i was fortunate enough to enjoy a stunning sunrise over the mountains.

The lack of a private bathroom is a slight drawback, but the bedroom was both delightfully rustic and very comfortable. Rather expensive, but it is an almost unique location.

We were nicely welcomed and been presented around, and also we were told about dinner plans, which by the way we had no idea is included in the price as nothing was mentioned on Booking.com They reserved us a table with a 4 course menu, everything was absolutely delicious. the breakfast as well, superbly presented, delicious with a big variety. also included in the price. the room under the stars was absolutely fabulous, another thing we didn't knew about but were so impressed. the communal arrears are so beautifully decorated including the stairs between the floors. the location is literally fabulous, everywhere you look is breathtaking. perfect for couples, families, everyone! the station is 2minutes away, the alpine garden too. FAB FAB FAB,would go back any second.

It didn't bother us much, but it'd have been nice to have showers in the room. they were very clean but I'd still prefer intimacy.

You can’t beat the view and the location. Come up for a hike and stay overnight. Dinner and breakfast were superb but sitting on the deck with a cold drink at the end of a hike can’t be beaten.

The dinner and breakfast were really good. The host and employees were very helpful. The location is off the chart, of all the hotels we have stayed at, this is by far the most impressive. Very unique experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Rather quaint and individual rooms with shared bathroom on the floor, all very clean and comfortable. Fabulous 4 course set meal whilst enjoying the incredible location, views and sunset! Also a good breakfast and friendly staff.
