Rosario EcoHotel - Islas del Rosario

Trying to stay objective, the garden of the hotel is beautiful and well kept. But it gets quite hot during the day.

I’d start saying that we had booked 3 nights in this hotel and we left after the first night, wasting 300€. I was with a friend who has defined this hotel as a scam. I wouldn’t go so far but still quite disappointing. We booked a standard room which looked very nice in pictures but then once we got there we realised the pics had been taken like 10 years before as the room was falling into pieces (pieces of ceiling which had fallen on the floor, cracks in the wall, etc). The room was dirty and the sheets stained, so we asked them to clean it again. There was no hot water, which was never mentioned anywhere. The reception is only opened until 5pm, but even during opening hours it is quite common not to find anyone there. In the night, we had a quite big spider in our room. Thankfully we found a very nice guy (we assumed it was a waiter) who helped us to remove it. We were asked to pre-order our food for dinner, which we did, and to choose a time to consume it. Once we got there, we were told that the fish we had ordered wasn’t available anymore and they also messed up the entrance order we had made. Anything ordered from the bar/restaurant took for ever. The breakfast was quite limited and no gluten free option for my friend who is a celiac (N.B. In Colombia gluten free options shouldn’t be much of a problem, arepas are gluten free for example). In any case, I also found a (cooked) spider in my pancakes (see foto attached). The most shocking thing is that once all this was reported to the reception, we didn’t receive apologies, let alone an offer to change room or to remove some items from the bill. The lady at the reception only told us that we wouldn’t be reimbursed for the room. We have contacted booking.com but so far got no reply. Very very frustrating. Last but not least, despite not being the hotel’s fault but probably good to know, is that the structure is located on the north part of island which is often subject to strong winds coming from the sea, i.e.

El hotel nos decepcionó en todos los sentidos; instalaciones pésimos, la habitación nada que ver con las fotos, en el baño no hay agua caliente, se oían gallos desde las 3 de la mañana casa 5 minutos cacarear y el personal lento y poco servicial. Nos arruinó un poco la estancia en Isla Grande.

Della struttura mi è piaciuto molto il servizio, personale molto cortese e disponibile, collocazione, aree comuni.

Hotel eine absolute Abzocke- nicht zu empfehlen katastophe, dreckig, alt, fällt auseinander ecklig auch der Stäg beim Strand ist alt und gefährlich war leider nicht entspannend!

The location was lovely on the coast. The food in the restaurant was good but small portions.

There was almost no light in the rooms, you are only allowed one coffee at breakfast and then you must pay, you have to pay for any water you drink. The rooms were not particularly clean (a mouse or rat took a bit out of a chocolate bar in one of our bags) and the rooms are really worn around the edges definitely not how the photos show them. If we had paid a small amount I wouldn’t be bothered but this was our most expensive hotel in Colombia and the worst quality.
