Camera grande pulita e fresca con doccia enorme. Personale gentile, possibilità di partecipare alla cena del pellegrino. Prezzo giusto per la qualità dell'ambiente e del servizio Messa del pellegrino ore 20 nella chiesa a fianco all'hotel molto carina con auguri di buon cammino in tutte le lingue

- Orreaga (Basque) is a small historic village in the Spanish Pyrenees and within the municipality of Navarra renowned as the starting point for the French Way of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage prominence, the ancient collegiate church, monuments, and the legendary Battle of Roncesvalles in 778 involving Charlemagne's rearguard and Roland, immortalized within the Song of Roland. This is a rich site of historic value, medieval architecture, and religious significance, offering shelter and heritage to pilgrims. In order to help pilgrims crossing the Pyrenees along the St James’ Way, around 1127, the Bishop of Pamplona, requested by King Alfonso I ‘the Battler’, founded the Roncesvalles Hospitality Institution. Roncevalles Pilgrim Hotel - On arrival discovered the hotel was under refurbishment thus the car park was under siege as a building site difficulties securing parking space. Hola greeting from the two young girls at reception little/no English spoken communication limited - Room 215 was WIP (Work In Progess) and definative snagging list! The best part of the stay was leaving!

The double bed was 2 single beds lashed together - very uncomfortable - the bedframe was oversized thus a H&S issue. No Aircon - opening the small windows difficult due to the scaffolding outside - impossible to sleep hot and noisy. The wet room was dangerous as the tiles were not non-slip with no grab rail H&S issue. The waitress made it quite clear she was not interested in serving, shugging her shoulders when enquiring about a reservation for dinner.

Street parking no fan total dormitory style for the price of an AC Marriott. Oh the soccer field is right next to us with lights and smoking and playing until 11:30 PM.

Magnificent building with Beautiful, clean and comfortable rooms.

Renovations in progress, however impact was minimal.
