The Wanderlust Hotel

We stayed in the Ambassador room, and it was absolutely beautiful! Very spacious, and we had everything we needed in the room. The bathroom was fantastic (the two person shower was probably as big as the rest of the bathroom), and there was room for everything. The whirlpool tub was great after a day exploring Door County, we spent an evening sitting around the coffee table playing a board game, the bed was very comfortable, the mini fridge had plenty of room, and our own Keurig was quite nice. The private rooftop patio was also nice. We spent a couple of mornings out there having our coffee and breakfast, while discussing our plans for the day. And the owners were great, too! I never met them in person, but they were in communication from the start, and always available. This is so much better than a standard hotel!

The room was clean, comfortable and the deck was great for morning coffee. Located close to 3rd avenue where the shops and restaurants was ideal.

The grounds could be better maintained with a little effort of mowing and trimming shrubs. The exterior needs paint as well. It could be a really awesome boutique with a little extra detail and attention paid to the exterior of the building and grounds.

Quiet, comfortable, convenient. Our hosts thought of everything, from wine to bottled water to leaving us ice cubes and a variety of morning beverage choices. Thanks for making a great trip to Door County even better!

It’s a good location on a quiet street.

The exterior of the hotel is a mess. There’s lots of peeling paint! There were two beach towels hanging out to dry when we arrived. Totally tacky!

The proximity of this property was great, as it was close to the marina and shops.

The bed has a lot to be desired. The mattress was overly firm, and the boards the mattress rested on stuck out past the mattress making it a hazard (rough on shins). The outside of the property, the bikes, and the lawn need some TLC.

The sheets and floor seemed clean, but the walls and floorboards and other fixtures were dirty and dusty.

Very comfortable bed and loved the whirlpool tub! Very walkable location to restaurants in sturgeon bay. Easy parking across the street in the lot.

The facilities in the room were superb. We both had a great night sleep. The bed was roomy and comfortable. The shower was excellent. We could not work the hot tub / jacuzzi - I guess we should have contacted the owner bit we had bothered him enough.

The communication on the day telling us code to get through front door and room combination. We has spent all day in Door County with no phone signal so had not received the necessary information by the time we arrived. There was an issue with the room on arrival but this was completely and amicably sorted
