Hotel Albula & Julier

Very friendly and helpful staff, anytime we had a request or question they assisted with a positive attitude. The facilities were also very nice, and well kept up. We had a view of the river located right next to the hotel and it was really nice view. The kitchen provided a extensive breakfast and a good option for dinner that left us satisfied. Great option for a good price.

The hotel is located confidently right next to a Main Street, which can have some motor traffic going by. It ended up being a bit further from our ski location but still well located.

The food at the hotel was lovely, dinner was three courses and there was a buffet breakfast. The bedrooms were nicely decorated, bright, and clean with all of the facilities required including a TV and a hairdryer. The staff/reception was helpful and friendly.

Every time you opened the shower door it formed a puddle on the floor (had to keep mopping it up!) The hotel asked you not to open the windows for more than 3 minutes at a time (may have been something to do with it being on the river???) but the rooms got quite hot and there was no aircon!

Welcoming hosts. The room was very spacious, clean, and modern, including bathroom, and furnished / arranged in some very stylish way, truly delightful. Very close to Tiefencastel railroad station (5-10 minutes on foot, depending on your pace), where you can take Bernina Express or another train to enjoy the Albula railroad line (and beyond). The property has its own restaurant, and as a guest, you're offered to book a table there. The food and wine in the restaurant were very tasty.

For us that was not a problem, but for people who are sensitive to uniform noise it might be - the hotel is just next to a mountain river which is quite loud. At the same time the hotel is quite big, so, should the river noise bother you, I'm sure you can ask during the booking for a room which is farther away from the river / doesn't have windows facing it. The breakfast could be more varied, especially when it comes to fresh fruits. But overall, we had a great experience, and I certainly can recommend the hotel to others and will definitely consider choosing it again once I'm back in Graubünden.
