Location is why even people will consider to stay rest all is just average

Old furniture in bad shape. Reception staff. I continued to ask change my room as I was not liking it and I said do 4 days paying 1600 pound which is a lot of money with no one to concider my request.

The location, views, the courtesy and efficiency of most of the staff, the dining room decor, ambience and service.

The hotel is looking a little shabby. It badly needs repainting, the bathroom was in need of work: cracked floor tiles, mould on the ceiling above the shower, hairline cracks in the washbasin. Bedroom carpet somewhat worn and one bedside table had been overlooked by cleaners and was covered in a layer of dust.This was supposedly a deluxe room. The standard of cooking was very average and almost half the dishes carried a supplement which I felt was unfair when we had paid on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. (e.g. £19.50 extra for steak). We have visited this hotel several times over the last 20 years and standards have been gradually slipping.

Views, location and staff.

Needed some tlc on condition and decor.

The hotel is set in a pretty location. The building is quite impressive. Our room was spacious. Breakfast is set in a pretty dining room.

The facility is a bit dated overall, but it’s part of the charm. For the price point, the food could have been better. Also, the staff, except a few people, didn’t seem to be particularly friendly.
