Hotel Artaban

Snídaně na tak obsažený hotel slabá.

Almost everything was good. (Quiet area, clean room, nice staff...) But...

But... I still can't think of it as a good memory. We checked in late, around 7pm and arrived at the hotel before 8pm. We got a room in the outbuilding. The room was cold, the heating wasn't on. We turned up the radiator, but unfortunately only one half of the radiator got warm, the other half stayed cold. The room didn't get warm until morning, we were cold all night. (It's minus degrees outside in February.) If you can't sleep normally because it's too cold, how many points do you deduct from the maximum? And one more negative. The breakfast was delicious, but it's only a served breakfast, not a buffet.

The hotel has a WONDERFUL restaurant. The list of meals seemed very common and unimpressive. But the way they were prepared was AMAZING, showing that common meals can be prepared in a proper way when the cook knows how and wants to. Also the service at the restaurant was exceptionally good. The town is calm and relaxed.

Restaurant and hotel services

The hotel met expectations - it doesn't surprise you with anything above standard. I've visited a number of hotels across Europe and many three-star ones offered better service, a more substantial breakfast, hotel slippers and bathrobe (for a hotel where a spa is included as here is). However, we stayed at a price that was more in line with 3 star accommodation (thanks to the Genius discount) and the accommodation fulfilled its purpose. The steak from the grill as well as potatoes grenaile were delicious.

For a four-star hotel, I would expect hot water to flow, not just barely warm water in bath tube. The soup at restaurant was extremely salty. You can always add salt, but you can't desalt it, so less salt is always better than more.
