Location, comfortable bed

Uncomfortable pillows, stuffy room, not enough outlets

our room was very noisy leading onto the courtyard. also traffic noise and radio of other guests. no yea or coffee available. had to go out to a cafe nearby . staff very grumpy

location was great close to everything inc markets. Room was cleaned everyday. Very comfortable bed.

Very stuffy and hot room. Fan supplied but we had to use mosquito coils to keep bugs out as you have to have windows open.

I wasn’t the booking guest but stayed with the friend that did book and pay for our stay here. Here’s why I am writing a review. There were no safes in the room. I asked at the reception if they had secure safety deposit boxes. Oh, yes, I’m told. Only to discover that employees were putting things into my box with all my money and passport! The guy in charged, lied to me, saying I had the only key. Obviously, not the case. We had reserved a double room. I requested a second bottle of water and was told no. I could fill it up at water dispenser downstairs. Never mind we were two separate people who deserve to have their own bottle of water but the next morning the water dispenser was all out!!

The hotel is on a busy, noisy street that seems a bit seedy but the hotel is very pretty inside and the decor is colonial. I had a room at the back of the hotel that was very dated and simply decorated but clean and well-maintained by the cleaning staff. The two men at the front desk were both very friendly and helpful although their English is limited. The door and bathroom have transom windows with a small space at the top for ventilation so you can hear what's going on in the hallway but fortunately the other guests were very quiet. I stayed for six nights and found the area safe and very interesting. The 20th of Noviembre market is right around the corner and a great place to shop and have a quick, cheap meal

Just spent one night at the Posada Catarina and it was just fine. For $800MEX for two of us, it was a good choice just a couple blocks off the zocalo and right next to the Mercado Benito Juarez. Rooms are clean, large and generally comfortable. The king size bed was very firm, but we still got a good night’s sleep. We had a room near the rear of the hotel so it was very quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful.
