The main thing that stands out for me was our meal at the Nobu restaurant. We have dined at other Nobu’s as well. We don’t mind spending money at very nice restaurants but this particular one had a $20 charge for a small bowl of just regular white rice for one person. There is a line between paying money for a nice meal and gouging which clearly the rice charge falls in that group. I could have bought them a 20 pound bag of rice for the charge of this ridiculous price on a scoop of rice. Yes it’s a small thing but so ridiculous I had to comment.

beautiful old hotel and gardens, nice room internally, beach and pool were very good

we paid for a premium sea view room but we were right above the live music (outside our sliding door!) from the bar which played until midnight. the hotel wifi did not work, they have forbidden irons and charge a fortune for pressing/laundry service. the cost of food and drinks were completely over-priced. for example €110 per person fixed price for lunch in the pool area and €25 for a glass of local white wine. Whilst we knew it was a premium resort hotel when we booked it the pricing we experienced was excessive and we want to make sure other people understand the scale of extra expense before you book here.
