Super freundliche und sympathische Gastgeberin! Kleine aber feine Frühstücksauswahl aufs Zimmer. Alles frisch und mit Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. Toller Blick auf die Burg Pottenstein.

We have stayed at the Forellenhof many times over the past ten years, when it was run by the family owners, and greatly enjoyed our stays. The rooms and furnishings remain the same, but the family no longer seem to be involved. During our stay this time there was no servicing of the rooms; in a five day stay our room was never cleaned, the soap dispensers in the bathroom became empty and were never refilled, and we had to ask (via written note) for toilet paper! This is not acceptable in a guesthouse costing over 110 euro per night. Also there is no reception, so one has to call a phone number to be let in; while someone met us immediately on arrival we saw that this did not happen for other guests who had to wait a considerable time before getting their room keys.

The Hotel is OK. However, there is no breakfast available and the former restaurant in the basement is closed since 2020. The price is similar to other hotels where a breakfast was included.

For breakfast you have to go to the local baker shop "Der Frosch" = The frog. This adds another 25 Euro for 2 people per day.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bed and the pillows excellent. Hotel host has a big heart and is a fantastic person. Breakfast rich and tasty. Views from the balcony are breathtaking (to the castle on the hill). Quiet location, but walking distance from restaurants.

Quiet family-run guesthouse, very nicely decorated and furnished. Our double room was very large with its own bathroom and entrance hallway, as well as a large terrace with a view of Burg Pottenstein. Excellent breakfast as well. Strongly recommended.
