We cannot recommend Hotel von Graf enough. The room, the staff, the beautiful atmosphere, and the onsite restaurant made our stay in this picturesque, fairytale citadel truly magical. We stayed in Room 11, which is nestled at the very top of this quaint, historic hotel. We selected this specific room for its charm, though travelers should note that access requires climbing a steep staircase. If you are less mobile or traveling with heavy luggage, this might be a bit challenging, but the hotel offers many other highly accessible rooms on lower floors. The room itself was well-equipped with tea and coffee facilities, plus a convenient fridge to store your own items (just note that milk isn't provided). The onsite restaurant was fantastic, offering a great variety of options including excellent vegetarian dishes—we actually found it to be one of the most accommodating dining spots in the entire citadel. Breakfast was beautifully simple yet offered plenty of variety, featuring numerous traditional Romanian foods to try. They even offer a morning sample of Țuică, a traditional spirit, which is certainly a unique and authentic way to start your day! Out of the four different places we stayed during our trip to Romania, our time here was easily the absolute highlight.

The location is perfect. The building is nice and the room is cozy. We were given good instructions on where to park the car in the public parking which is a short walk.

Our room had windows on the internal courtyard, which happens to be the hotel restaurant. It can be a bit noisy in the evening. I like a firm bed, and it was too soft for me. The breakfast room is small, and as it starts at 8.30, most guests convene at the same time. This could be improved by starting sooner.
