Malekus is a wonderful jewel in an amazing área.

jewel of a place, incredible setting, taken care of like family. breakfasts were delicious, especially the home-made blended juices! rincon de la vieja national park is a must go as well.

The property is absolutely gorgeous- plant life, the animals that come by to visit, the rooms and all the spaces you can spend your time. So cool. Roger and Rosie truly treat you like beloved family… so much warmth and hospitality.

This didn’t bother me, but guests that like to have a lot of options for dining in the area might feel limited here. With that said, there is an awesome restaurant just down the street that serves fresh and bomb food made with love!

Amazing!! I don’t know how else to describe this wonderful place. Roger and Rosi were so hospitable and welcoming. The grounds were beautifully manicured and the lodge is beautiful. The beds were the most comfortable we had on our entire visit to CR. The rooms were spacious and the wood furniture beautiful. The pool was amazing and the common area to hang out was so nice. Beautiful stone work. Breakfast was included that they prepared fresh juices, eggs prepared how you like, rice, toast, fresh fruit, cereal, avacados. Very delicious. We were so sorry we had only planned 1 night here. We will return!!

The included breakfast was by far the best part of this stay (while the rest of the stay was also exceptional). They made us a delicious breakfast each morning with the best fresh juices I’ve ever had. The property in general is beautiful. They even have a massive garden on sight and a hiking path that overlooks that place.

Location isn’t super great but as long as you’re willing to drive a little to get to some cool places, then it’s totally worth it.

A true hidden gem in the mountains. Off the beaten path but with the kindness of the hosts Roger and Rosi you feel right at home. Comfortable rooms, trails to explore, animals to feed and a pool to enjoy. Truly one of the best places we have ever stayed. The place is magic but the hosts are what really make this place special.

The setting is spectacular-- clean comfortable spaces for relaxing, exploring, and mingling, a vigorous hiking path with stunning scenery and lush gardens, but the most memorable part of our time here is Roger's heartfelt hospitality. So warm and sincere, our entire family was treated like royalty. And the hearty, healthy breakfasts were the best of our entire vacation! Staying two nights, we made a day trip to Rincon de la Vieja, then enjoyed dinner at a nearby restaurant. The rough road getting there makes a stark contrast to the luxurious elegance of Malekus Mountain Lodge, and the gracious hospitality makes us eager to return.

We would have happily stayed a few more days to enjoy the beautiful property!

Our visit to this lodge was unforgettable!The rooms and all the property have a very special charm:) Everything was clean and very much thought about. We enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was amazing and plenty, they cooked eggs from their own chickens! Owners' hospitality was exceptional, it was pleasure to meet such a wonderful couple! We hike the trails and visited hot springs pool nearby. Highly recommend this place for families and couples, you will not regret:)
