Stayed at Hotel Mayura Gersoppa near Jog Falls and had a really pleasant experience overall. I stayed in the Tunga Block (non-AC rooms), which was comfortable and clean. If you’re planning a visit though, try to book a room in the main block — that’s where you’ll get the best views of the valley and surrounding forest. The property currently has some construction going on, but the staff mentioned it should be completed by the end of the year, which will probably make the place even better. What really stood out was the staff — extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating throughout the stay. The food was also quite good, simple but tasty and satisfying after a long day exploring Jog Falls. Overall, a great stay if you’re visiting Jog Falls, especially for the location, views, and warm hospitality

One thing to keep in mind: cell network is very weak in this area. The hotel does provide Wi-Fi, but it tends to drop quite often, so don’t rely on it too heavily if you need stable connectivity.

Wake up early and take advantage of the best sunrise views from within the new viewing area, just outside your front door.

It’s currently a building site but is due to be be finished before the end of 2026.
