"Great location"

10.0

We wanted a quiet place in Buenos Aires to spend 4-5 days. On the last minute we cancelled our reservation in a downtown hotel for Hotel Principe. It was a great decision. Hotel Principe has a great location (in Palermo: one of the richest area), Internet cafe, grocery store, restaurant and ATM were less than a block away. Plus you get to walk from Recoleta, zoo and botanical garden easily. The subte station is one block away and takes you downtown in 10 minutes. The room we had was not modern but we had a small fridge and lots of space. Breakfast was simple but enough to go on: small croissants with juice, yogourt and your choice of coffee (cappucino, espresso etc). We visited downtown and pinpointed all hotels of our initial choice, you do not want to stay downtown in Buenos Aires, it's crowded, noisy and you need to be on your guards constantly. The rate in december 2004 was 90 pesos, breakfast & tax included P.S.: the personnel is very friendly but speaks little English. If you have some knowledge of Spanish, you'll be fine.

"From Spain to BS AS in a not typical hotel"

10.0

i stayed at the Principe Hotel for 2 weeks. I rent a double room. It included the taxes and the breakfast. A typical, but interesting breakfast. Express Cofee taht its not very common. The room are very confortable, 3o mts2 with tv, refrigerator, private toilet. The people at the Hotel are great. Its a differente kind of hotel. Big rooms, low rates. I will return to Bs As and i will stay at the Principe Hotel.

"Good, inexpensive small hotel in great area"

10.0

I stayed here for a total of nine nights in mid-late April, 2004 and I was very pleased with my choice. This is a simple, small family-run hotel in Barrio Norte, bordering both Recoleta and Palermo, an excellent choice for those who are not the hostel-type but looking for an inexpensive place to stay in a very nice and safe neighborhood. Very good for women traveling solo, as I was. The hotel is very well-maintained, extremely clean and the furnishings are in excellent condition. A free-standing closet/armoire and large dresser gave plenty of space to store my stuff and all rooms feature a small dining table, refrigerator and color cable TV. Not sure if they have full air-conditioning, but they do have a central air system that kept my room comfortable on a couple of warm, muggy days. The lobby and breakfast area are homey and bright, and the room rate includes a standard Argentine continental breakfast of medialunas/toast, yoghurt, coffee/tea and juice. The hotel staff doesn't speak much English, but they are cordial. The location of the hotel is excellent, a half block off Avenida Santa Fe with its many shops that have everything you need and a block from the Aguero subte (subway) station. Many restaurants and cafes are just a short stroll away, and a little more walking will bring you to the heart of Recoleta and Palermo. The area is also a safe place to walk around after dark. I was very happy here.
