Hotel Casa Tarzan San Agustin

The owner was absolutely exceptional - charming, delightful, efficient, helpful - she made our stay. The place was odd but we enjoyed the eccentricities of decor. Staff all most helpful, good breakfast.

Staff very helpful and could organise English speaking guides for the achealogical park if needed and the price they quoted was the same as at the gate of the park, hotel is very very quirky so may not be to everyone's taste but I loved it. Bed is the most comfortable I have slept in for all my time in Colombia. If you want a hot shower they boil up water on the stove and deliver it in a big bucket with ladel and leave it at your door 🤗 which is in keeping with the quirkiness of the place. Shower/bath is huge!! 5 minute walk from bus. Staff only speak Spanish with a little English which might be an issue for some.

Not a problem of the hotel but I feel the south of Colombia struggles with a lack of visitors which they say has never really picked up after the pandemic. I was the only guest at the hotel and speaking to others around town it was similar in most hotels. It is worth the effort if you have time to get there and support the tourism economy. Maybe a bit more lighting in the room would be good.

The best stay I had in Colombia. Excellent location in San Agustin. Quiet, off the main street. Exotic interior and gardens. Superb staff. Most accommodating and hospitable, esp. the owner Dally Valdes.👍🙂
