Friendly staff, clean and in a beautiful location right by the river. Had a very nice view from the balcony with beautiful sunrises!

Perfect location 400 metres from the municipal dock. Great room with balcony overlooking the water. Fantastic deck area with Hammocks, loungers and swing chairs. Enormous portions from dinner menu. Lovely staff especially the owner, great chap, very helpful and friendly. Don’t hesitate to stay here

Only downside is maybe the shared bathroom between 3 rooms.

Unfortunately the shower in the shared bathroom was a bit weak, but this is a common thing in Guatemala so can't really complain! It was a little pricey considering it was a shared bathroom.

Very nice, alongside the water, also allowing for boats to bring / pick you up from / to next destinations. Nice common area to chill.

I stayed at Casa Nostra in Livingston in mid-December for four nights, in a room with shared facilities. While it’s not luxury accommodation, it is clean, adequate, and exactly what you’d hope for if you value authenticity over polish. The location is outstanding. Casa Nostra is tucked beside the harbour, set within a small tropical garden that looks directly over the river. It feels quietly removed while being right at the heart of Livingston. Mornings begin with a genuine tropical bird chorus drifting through the trees — a lovely, natural way to wake up. The restaurant is a real highlight. The quality of the food is excellent, and the ambience is special: it’s built directly into the river, creating a relaxed, almost floating dining experience. It’s the kind of place where you linger longer than planned. The host went well beyond expectations. He was generous with his time and local knowledge, and I had the pleasure of joining him and local fishermen on a fishing trip — an experience that felt genuine rather than staged. An American by origin, he was thoughtful, well-informed, and clearly sincere in his desire to give back to his adopted home. That ethos runs through the place. If you’re looking for character, warmth, and a true sense of place, Casa Nostra delivers. Staying here doesn’t just give you a memorable experience — it also contributes to sustaining and improving the unique Garífuna settlement of Livingston. I cannot recommend Casa Nostra highly enough for travellers who value authenticity, community, and meaningful travel over generic comfort.
