Friendly staff & location

Old rooms, broken shower, not fresh sheets, no toilet paper. Had to leave early for safari, got take away breakfast - banana & 2 pieces of white bread. At least a boiled egg could be included.

Once you climbed up to the 3rd floor, the view out the back of the rice paddies and the lake was peaceful. Maduwa was extremely helpful. The AC in our room worked. The WiFi worked well in our room, but didn’t quite reach out to our balcony.

I’m not sure why, but the windows in the front and back were closed, so there was no way for the breeze to make its way through the building, so it was very stuffy. Fortunately the AC worked well, as did the WiFi. The earliest we could get breakfast served was 9:20, which is way too late for someone who likes to eat as soon as they wake up. To his credit, Maduwa did serve us breakfast after we returned from our safari around 10:30. There are only a couple of restaurants semi-close to the hotel, but it is a hot walk in the middle of the day.

Our room was very large and comfortable. This is an older hotel, and could use a refurb, but it's excellent value for money. A short walk to restaurants and the bus station. The bathroom was spacious with very good hot water. The beds were firm but comfortable. There was a small fridge and we were provided with a kettle and tea making supplies on request. Breakfast was very good. More than enough food and plenty of coffee. The young man who is running the place is excellent! Friendly, kind and very helpful. Be aware that there are stairs - 80 to get to our room. However, for us not an issue, especially since our man carried our packs for us as though they were bags of feathers! We would definitely stay there again.

Nothing - as long as you understand it's an older place, it's exceptional value for money.

One ofnour days there the hot water and electricity went out. They are fixing this problem.

Excellent location close to supermarket and restaurants. The staff were amazingly helpful especially Maduwa in the hotel. Also the man (I didn’t get his name) who organised our safari was so helpful. He even arranged for me to go on the safari another day when I got sick. The safari was amazing and we saw 2 big male Leopards really close to the jeep and 2 Leopard cubs playing on a large rock. I would definitely recommend this place and the safari they organise. Also the view from the balcony overlooking the rice fields was beautiful!
