Great location, kind staff, nicely renovated bathroom. (7 rooms out of 17 are renovated but old furniture stayed) Clean rooms.

Great room with a excellent view

Location is superb. Check-in was painless and contact-free (proprietor had phoned us with instructions on how to locate our room key upon late arrival). Fabulous balcony view is directly over the promenade and water. Hotel was easy to find and is an extremely easy walking distance to the Maritime Museum and Aquarium. A very welcome complimentary bottle of water was provided. Bathroom was very clean and recently renovated. Water pressure and hot water were both excellent in the shower. Upon checkout the staff kindly allowed us to remain parked at their facility while we attended a nearby event (it was for no more than an hour).

Sadly, the hotel is neglected and shabby. The carpets and upholstery might be clean, but it was impossible to tell because they are so worn-out. Long past due for an update. The room needed an airing upon arrival, as there was a stale odor. The bed was hard as a rock, the pillows entirely unsubstantial, the linens yellowed in the bright morning sun. While the bathroom was clearly recently renovated and very clean, it was also the size of a standard coat closet and strangely offered very little space for personal items (one small shelf over the sink, no shelf in shower and not a single hook for hanging clothes). Tiny TV in an awkward space to the side of the bed. Wifi never worked. We didn't bother with breakfast. Potential visitors should note that there is no elevator and you will have to carry your baggage up at least two flights of stairs. Lots of hall noise penetrates the room.
