Nayara Bocas del Toro

Having worked in the luxury world, everything about this hotel is perfect. It has a soul and that comes through all the details and the apparently “effortless” service of a wonderful and very human team who love what they do. They are themselves. They have all been recruited for their genuine talent and connection and like and amazing orchestra everything flows and you just blend into nature. We loved David and Benjamin’s food, the amazing balance of the cocktails and the total communion with the beauty of the island and surrounding. Our swims and kayaks round the island allowed us to see dolphins, turtles and even an indigenous family in a neighbouring island. It merits its top 15 WW best new hotels in the world. Stay without hesitation and join paradise.

* The resort is very beautiful and is located on a private island. The sleeping area is spacious and the bathroom as well, with a large walk-in shower, 2 sinks and a private toilet with a door (getting rare these days). The terrace overlooks the bay where the property is located and allows access to snorkeling even under the villa. There weren't very many fish though. * The staff is very helpful! They provide easy communication with a chat app on a tablet in the room and they are happy to help with everything. They even gave us a Whatsapp number to be able to talk to them while in town. They helped us with hiring a car for our onward journey to Boquete. * If you want to go into town, you can do so by speed boat, which the staff will arrange for you for about $40 per trip. We went scuba diving with a dive center in town and used this frequently.

* During the day, there is construction going on, as the property is expanding, making a lot of noise. * In the evenings, the neighboring island throws parties, so you can hear their hillbilly country music very loudly. * Very difficult to talk to the property before arrival. Answering emails took several days, had to call to get a different email address on a different domain to actually get a response the first time. * The food is average, with items that were very popular in Europe 5 years ago, like various mousses of vegetables. We even felt sick after eating some shrimp one night. * The bar lacks consistency. We had gin & tonic 4 times, and we got 3 different recipes, even varied during the same sitting at the bar. They should just have the 1 bartender make drinks, and follow a recipe. * The white wine selection was below average.

This place and it's people really deserve some praise! Hard to even start to explain what an incredible experience staying there was. Starting from the pick-up with a boat by Elke (hope this is how you write his name) and some bubbles along the way and the most helpful and detail oriented staff I have ever seen. Beautiful place, location, activities and ofcourse the food by the amazing chefs. Everything was so personalised. Special thanks to Franco at the beachbar for creating good cocktails and chill atmosphere with his guitar, Sebastian who knew exactly where to find dolphins on our sunset boat ride and the chefs for getting us the most delicious lobster we've ever eaten! Cannot recommend this place enough (although almost feeling like I'd like to keep this place a secret because it's too special 😂).
