"The best ski accommodation in Europe"

10.0

After trying many hotels and villas in ski resorts throughout Europe for over 30 years, we have finally found Hotel Arabell at Lech in Austria. If you haven’t heard of it, it maybe because the many regular - some coming for over 20 years - keep it a close secret. Why do the and now we keep co ing back? It starts with the warm welcome and attention to detail of the Wolf family and all their friendly staff. Then, the rooms - traditional Austrian with immaculate linen and modern amenities. The new world class Wellness Centre provides a perfect respite after skiing the Lech, Zuhrs, St Anton Alberg regions covering 305 downhill skiing, 200 kms off Piste skiing connected by 88 lifts. But the new real secret is the meals included in the tariff. It would be hard to match the breakfast for range of healthy (& decadent) choices. However, the dinners simply can NOT be beaten. six courses starting with a buffet salad that would exceed any health zealot’s fantasy. Imaginative soups and entrees. main meals created with first class meats, poultry and fish. Cheese platters that stand apart but the desserts created by the chef duo are simply outstanding. Crepes prepared before your eyes with the pageantry of a Michelin restaurant, chocolate baskets of lime creme fraisch, Choux pastry swans with magic fillings, handmade raspberry parfaits and so it went on for 12 glorious nights - 12 only - as one has to forage outside the hotel on Tuesday nights to give the inspired kitchen and wait staff a well earned rest. We met dozens of interesting people from around the world who are annual regulars. We will look forward to joining them in the years to come.

"Amazing family ski holiday"

10.0

This hotel was absolutely perfect for our family of 4. We had a 2 bedroom family suite which was very spacious, clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The bathroom was well finished with separate toilet. The food was fantastic- we went half board and had a 6 course meal every night (except Tuesdays). The Wolf family were very accomodating and if one of us didnt like one of the courses they would offer us a different option. Also cooked alternative food for my very fussy children every night. Breakfast was continental style but plentiful. Tasty cheeses, meats, breads etc. Service in the restaurant was excellent and all of our needs were attended to immediately. The bar had a good range of drinks and was, in our opinion, very reasonable compared to prices in the bars in town. Some reviews have commented that the hotel is quite far from the town but seriously- it's an easy 5 minute walk. The hotel has a deal with ski shop at the bottom of the lifts so boots/skis can be left there daily. We have been to Austria and Switzerland many times and this hotel is up there in my top 2. It is exceptionally good value for money, in a beautiful alpine resort and we loved every minute of our stay there. Would 100% recommend this hotel.

"Perfect Alps Retreat"

10.0

This was the perfect Alps retreat for our Christmas holiday. Convenient location, very close to the heart of the town, but juuust far enough that you don't have to worry if you aren't in the mood to be kept awake by others' apres ski. The rooms are spacious and a perfect blend of modern decor, and traditional charm to remind you this is an alpine ski lodge, and they are kept spotless. Wonderful to return to after a day on the slopes. The amenities are all taken care of, from the spa to the ski room, but there are two things that truly set Arabell apart: 1) The cuisine is absolutely top notch, particularly the 8 course meal on Christmas eve, and incredibly accomodating to dietary restrictions. We had booked for half board, and when we started factoring in the value of what we "thought we'd pay" if we were going out every night to order these dinners, we were blown away. 2) The Wolf family, who own the hotel, are the perfect hosts. In addition to greeting everyone, and repeatedly making sure that everything was taken care of, you could tell at their Christmas Eve pre-dinner cocktail hour how many of these guests were repeat visitors--a testament to the atmosphere the family provides. An example of their hospitality--it's a small one, but it captures the care they provide to their guests: On our last day, we informed Herr Wolf that we needed to leave very early in the morning, and asked if we could settle our bill that evening, which he said was no problem. Later, during her usual visits to each table at dinner, Frau Wolf said "Of course, we cannot allow you to get on the road on an empty stomach, so our chef will prepare a breakfast for you to take with you," and asked exactly what we would like. The following morning, as we were getting all of our stuff together, there was a light knock at the door. The chef handed us a bag packed with everything we had discussed, plus everything Frau Wolf insisted we would need--and an extra surprise, a batch of the Christmas cookies she'd noticed my wife and I had been fond of. Before we'd even made it out of town, we were already discussing the need to return, and the fact that there was only one place we'd want to stay.

10.0

We spent 5 night at this very nice, cozy family runned hotel. Rooms was clean and net, with location in the center of Lech. The hotel cooperate with a ski renter by one of the lifts where storage is included both for your own equipment and rented ones👍🏼Last, but not least, the food was fantastic! 🍽Breakfast where you could have tasty omelettes of your choice and a 6 cource dinners every night. Dinners where excellent with good and speedy service, white table linnen, warm plates, decent wine list and great food. Pic from last night dinner dessert

"Great spring skiing holiday"

10.0

We stayed here over Easter for a week. We had a lovely large room with a balcony overlooking the town and the slopes. The hotel staff were helpful and courteous and very friendly. We stayed half-board and the meals each night were a salad buffet followed by 5 more courses. We had a great time here and would happily return. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk to the lifts and the town centre but to avoid lugging your skis back and forth they do have a free storage arrangement in the centre of town which was ideal.

"Superb family-run hotel with a great standard"

10.0

We just came back from 5 days for skiing in Lech and a stay at Hotel Arabell and we cannot think of any better hotel we could have stayed at for the first skiing trip this season. We felt so welcome and the Family Wolf is making the anyway nice hotel to a real perl, we would like to thank them for their attentive hospitality. The presence of the family all over the hotel is amazing, we never where waiting more than 2-3 minutes after sitting down by the fireplace after skiing, until somebody of the family asked us how the day was and what they can bring us to drink. One of the best things there is the great 5-course dinner. Like others already did, we would also recommend booking the half-board as it is not only super tasty, but also very nicely prepared and served. We tried some other restaurants of 4* hotels by the slope for lunch, but were nearly always a bit dissapointed because of the high standard we experienced at the Arabell. They have just one menu and there is no option to choose from different mains, but the daily menu is varying and in the case you want to skip one course they are more than happy to serve you another one you liked more twice. In the case you are vegetarian, you just have to inform them when booking, you will get a vegetarian dinner with an own menu. One of the highlights was for us the salat bar with at least 15 seperately marinated fresh salats and for the greens some great dressings to choose from. The wine parings they recommend with the daily menu always went well with the dinner and had very reasonable prices. Our room was spacious, clean and very newly renovated, nothing to add to the pictures on the homepage, they really are looking so nice, and the beds were comfortable for us. I personally didn't join the Spa too much, I went to the Sauna twice, but I was quite surprised how clean and neat it is. In general I am a bit sceptical towards Spas in cellars, as they often smell moldy and don't have any charm. But the wooden floor in the relaxation room, the fireplace in the front of the loungers and the subtle chill out music give the whole area a very nice atmosphere. The only downside was that there are only two showers in one room, so after the Sauna there was a short queue to cool off yourself under cold water (there is one regular and one steam sauna). We definately can recommend this hotel for couples, small groups of friends and families, but aren't too sure about bigger groups who are into apres-ski and come to Lech for the party.

"Great hotel in Lech"

10.0

Very good hotel, with beautiful views of the meadows The owners speak good English and they are extremly helpful , the price during summer is cheaper than winter and with just one night stay you get a Lech Card that gets you free admission to all the cable cars and the buses to and from the other towns of the valley. Breakfast is Okay and the hotel is just 3 blocks from the center of the town. Lech is a very nice place to visit during summer i enjoy a lot and hope to come back, and of course i will go back to Arabell Hotel i absolutely recommend it.

"Insiper tip- Lovely family managed hotel"

8.0

The Arabell hotel is a nice family managed hotel, 4 minutes (by foot) away from the many ski-lifts of Lech. We stayed there for skiing and the service was just fantastic, skipass, ski-depot (at the Lech central lift) and a nice 5-course dinner was included. The dinner was better then suspected of a very high standard 4 to 5 stars (especially the crêpe evening was nice). The breakfast buffet was small but sufficient. The only points we can minimally complain about are the rooms, our room was not on the current technical standard and some important features (fan in toilet) have been absent. Nevertheless we totally recommend this hotel to our friends.

"The best B&B in Lech?"

10.0

When we visited Lech, we booked a suite at this hotel. During the summer, hotels in Lech offer good bargains where you get free admission to the cable cars, town bus etc. Hotel Arabel is lovely situated in the outskirts of Lech. As you can see from the photos, the meadows are just outside the hotel. But it’s just a couple of minutes to walk down to the main street as well. The hostess was very friendly and we got a big room with lovely furniture. The breakfast was also very good. For 82 Euro we got all this and free use of the cable cars (which meant marvellous walking in the mountains).
