We were very late booking in owing to travel issues but still managed to have a pizza and a drink. Dog friendly

We ate dinner n the dining room and were apparently mistaken for a members of a coach party! We chose from the proffered menu, which we assumed was the Menu du Jour. It wasn't! It was snatched away by the grumpy waiter, muttering "fous Anglais" (or similar words)! We then were offered the correct menu! The food was stodgy and nor great, but substantial portions and not good value...ok it WAS Luxembourg, but.... The main problem was the accommodation. We were travelling as two single elderly men in a 70year old car and had ordered two separate rooms with full facilities and breakfast and had this confirmed at a not inexpensive €112.50 each. What we were offered - on a take it or leave it basis when we arrived -was a roof level sort of apartment with the rooms sharing a bathroom set between the rooms. There was only one door, so one occupant had to go through the other room to get out. My card had already been charged €225, so we were lumbered. on checkout I complained to the young lady on Reception, but got a friendly- unhelpful- gallic shrug

Well priced. Friendly staff. Amazing good food in the restaurant. Classic old style hotel.

The service was very good and the staff spoke good english. Dogs are welcomed to the hotel, which is an extra plus, not many places in the area allow dogs and also compared to other places in the area the price was very good. The staff were considerate with our furry friend and gave us a bigger room so we all fit. We didn't expect that kind of service and were very surprised with the room that was more like a flat with it's own bedroom and living room, very spacy and with nice view. The breakfast was modest, but it was enough. The surrounding area is quiet, not many restaurants, but the Hotel has its own restaurant. Can't say anything about that, since we didn't eat there. There is a nice park in the area to have a stroll at, and very close to the Mondorf SPA.
