Hotel Otterbach

If one is unlucky and gets a room in the old building, he has to expect a shoe box rather than a nice, modern hotel room. The rooms are neither modern, nor very charming. Also, the beds are very small and not so comfortable.

The room I got faced the big road by the hotel, so it was quite noisy. The reception is accross the street, so it is a bit inconvenient to arrive at night to a closed hotel, through a side door that has stairs. Not very convenient.

Rooms are quite big, they have conditioner for air, food is very tasty. For me I like most room size, itvwas very big, so Im happy. Few things that I didnt like is internet - very slow and connecyion is week. And there is noise from outside, trains, cars a lot of cars, its quite messy thing

Convenient location, updated clean chic pleasant modern decor, bright yet calming, ambience peaceful. Service acceptable, polite but could be happier, Food initially distinct slightly strong flavors, soup with pleasant flavors, texture, mouthfeel, but a bit heavy-handed with salt level, & with dominant lingering salty taste, herbs present but indistinguishable mix with no dominant herb flavors. Soup base flavors reminiscent of asparagus broth, & possibly soup fond. Main items with strong distinct flavors. creative use of maultaschen in Italian Bolognese meat sauce commendable, and melted cheese on top adds textural interest and rounds out flavors in umami. The combination works well surprisingly. The success may be related to lack or reduction of strong Italien flavors such as oregano, or rosemary, etc in the bolognese. Maultaschen pleasant filling with good balance of herb-vegetable-meat, eliminating meat odor. Maultaschen skin with higher egg content like in commercial prep but works well here in al dente consistency reminiscent of lasagna noodle sheets, Bolognese sauce strongly tomato, with paprika undertone, dark color from beef fond or small amount of red wine (?), salt level high when combined (maultaschen, Bolognese, cheese), nonetheless flavors distinct and tasty until later with lingering salty after taste, Spätzle with higher egg content, possibly made by irregularly shaped Spätzle maker, texture al dente, to my personal liking. Lentils & sausages prepared well in traditional way. Carbonara initially with acceptable but dry sauce consistency, later very dry. Liquid portion of the sauce may need to be increased to accommodate for extra fast absorption on the chosen pasta shape (rigatoni?). Trolinger tripe prepared very well, resulting in pleasant flavors, happy texture without being hard to chew, & odors controlled masterfully disarming culinary resistance against organ meats/innards, Unfortunately desserts were not available other than ice cream, understandable being toward the end of lunch hour. Recommendations: overall good dining experience in pleasant, quiet calming ambience. Dishes were definitely flavorful, perhaps too much so, overall strong salty tastes high salinity across most items served will need to be addressed. The high salinity from the 3 course meal left me thirsty & with severely dry mouth for 2-3 hours afterwards. But rather have flavor than bland food. However, the kitchen will certainly need to look at salt levels of each ingredients & their additive effects.

We stayed here while in transit to a Christmas market in Bavaria. Many of the reviews are from business travellers and it seems a good hotel for that purpose. It is very close to the railway station but a good walking distance from the old town. The staff are helpful, the rooms are clean and modern, the wi-fi is good and the breakfast was more than adequate. Only complaint: expensive for what you get.

Great hotel, good service. Had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and it was excellent! Also very nice and clean rooms, recently renovated. Was very close to work and easily accessible with parking.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 weeks. I was told to ask for an "apartment" type room in the new section (above the reception). However I got a "standard" room in the old building, over the restaurants. The hotel was clean and functional, which is what I expect from a quality hotel in Germany. The room was large as it was a handicapped accessible room (no, I am not handicapped). I enjoyed the extra space, but the bathroom was a problem. As it was handicapped accessible, there was no tub or shower unit, simply an open area with a shower curtain around it. Every time I took a shower, the bathroom got flooded and stayed that was for hours (quite a surprise when you get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and the floor is still wet through. The in room Wi-Fi is not very good, although it is free. I could not connect with Skype video at all due to the sluggishness of the connection. The antenna was right outside my room but was woefully insufficient for any more than one or two people on the floor. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was very good, with the exception of not being able to cook scrambled eggs without turning them to rubber. The restaurants were nice, with excellent local food, although the price was a little higher than I would have liked. The location is good with my work place only a 10 minute walk away. The train station is about the same distance so if I am staying for only a few days the next time I won't even need a rental car. The one bad thing is the bed. I am not a fan of futons and that was all they had. I would roll over once and be totally uncovered. Also the pillows were like marshmallows and placing your head on them basically felt like you were lacing your head on the rock hard mattress (more normal for European hotels form what I can gather) Overall not a bad stay and I would stay there again

I stayed for one night in the hotel. The hotel is located beside the main road and very nearby to the business area of bietigheim. Just 5 mins away from work place Quality rooms and spacious. Restaurant is located in another building and serves good food. I had a delicious breakfast.

I stayed in this hotel for a private visit over Christmas. And I have to admit that I normally tread to stay in small town hotels. This was totally unnecessary though, as this hotels exceeded expectations by far. I didn't realise that they had a whole new complex of hotel rooms separated by a small residential road from the traditional hotel. The room was welcoming, light, quiet, with efficient internet access, comfortable mattresses, a nice bathroom and external blinds that make the room totally dark. It was a very cold night, but the room was warm when we arrived. The staff was friendly and efficient. We stayed only one short night, but the experience was perfect. Thank you Hotel Otterbach.

Last week me and my colleagues went to the AMB Messe in Stuttgart and stayed in Hotel Otterbach for 1 night. We were all pleasantly surprised by the appearance of the hotel and friendliness of the personnel. Rooms are of great size, clean, have a very nice bathroom and overall, a high level of comfort. We had diner at the hotel that night and without any doubt this was the best Rib Eye steak I've ever had. Breakfast was also very good. Once back at home, it turned out I had forgotten my electric toothbrush. I was lucky enough that the very friendly lady at the reception found it and was so kind to send it back to me by parcel delivery the same day. As soon as I have to be near Stuttgart again, I will certainly book a stay in this hotel again.
