"Pay at hotel but hotel don't consider and no guarantee of room"

I did Pay at hotel booking and just for safe side I did the reconfirm the booking from hotel. Hotel person said booking is there but I need to pay money to confirm for sure. Else if don't pay the money then there's no guarantee of the room when you'll come for check-in. This is really worst customer service. I decided to not go to check in this hotel.
