The location is good. Star briyani is a short walk, ice cream place that was nice, and a cafe serving chapati with a good selection of curries. Autos ate easy to get, 6min ride into Ambur town.

We booked 2 rooms and both were in bad condition. The hotel is old and decrepit, photos on website is from when the hotel was newly built. Poorly maintained and smelly lobby floor. In my room, the bed had a sunken hole in the middle where the springs were missing. Had to change the mattress. Everything was dusty or dirty, and the bathroom was terrible. Toilet bowl is stained, very noisy exhaust fan, using bucket & mug bathing system. The shower and bidet exist but don't work. AC remote had depleted batteries, and AC sometimes works. Other times don't. On the 3rd day, AC kaput. Took all day for someone to come. It was fixed and stayed working until we left. Staff are powerless and incapable of maintaining the hotel. They didn't come to clean the room in 4 days despite telling the cleaner guy to come. Had to ask for new towels every day. No initiative nor accountability. On the day we were leaving, there was a commotion, and we found out that some other guests had complained online, and the hotel owner decided to send a cleaning crew. This hotel has the potential to be a good stopover. All it needs is cleaning and replacement of things that are broken or damaged. We didn't check out because the location was suitable for us, and we had work to finish in 4 days. We tolerated the shortcomings and stayed until we were done. To the owner, if you are reading this, then it's time for you to take charge and fix the problems in your hotel.
