Very nice family hotel. The location of the hotel is just perfect, right on the shore of Lake Garda, the staff was simply wonderful, helpful and very friendly. Staying at this hotel exceeded all our expectations.

Beautiful view of Lake Garda. Everything was very clean. That staff did everything to ensure we had the best stay. Beautiful boardwalk with a variety of restaurants within walking.

I work for a global travel company and part of my job involves experiencing and reviewing 5 Star hotels around the world. I only make the time to write reviews for my personal stays when the experience is either exceptional or unsatisfactory. My personal travel is on a budget, but because I’ve got used to the 5 Star hotel experience, I always try to look for a hotel with a wow factor...the more trips I take, the harder it seems to get to be truly wowed. However, the Garni Riviera wowed, so here’s my review! WHAT’S GREAT: 1- THE FRIENDLY SERVICE - THANK YOU EDUARDO! Eduardo is the nephew of the hotel owner. We always found him at the hotel reception ready to help with anything from unloading luggage (it was hot, but he looked very cool in his new linen shirt!), advising on parking (he provided directions and a permit for €3 a day), advice on ferries (he helped us translate the timetable, advised on best places to visit, and gave us a discount voucher), he helped with restaurant reservations (it was our son’s birthday and we hadn’t realised most places get fully booked). and he even helped us recharge our fans (when we’d foolishly brought the wrong adapters). With theses and many other things, Eduardo truly went over and above to ensure we had a great stay. 2- LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! The hotel has a prime lakefront position in the beautiful little town of Gardnano (we loved north Garda more than the touristy south - maybe the time of year would make a difference to that opinion?). There is a large first-floor terrace/balcony that overlooks the lake with amazing views. You can have your breakfast on the terrace (complimentary if you book your stay directly with the hotel, or pay €7 per person locally). We loved sitting on the shady terrace in the early evening (it has no food/drink service but you can bring a drink up from the hotel’s cute little indoor bar located downstairs). 3- THE HOTEL IS IN GOOD REPAIR AND KEPT IMMACULATELY CLEAN!

Amazing location right on the lake in a beautiful village. The staff were exceptional especially the young man on the desk who was extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Parking available nearby.

Unfortunately we were there when it was extremely hot 38 degrees and the room had no air conditioning, there is a fan in the ceiling but had limited effect. It was also noisy in the street up until midnight and then around early hours of the morning.

DO I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL? 100% YES! If you’re looking for an efficiently run and extremely friendly, family run hotel - I highly recommend this hotel, which deserves 10 stars for service. IN SUMMARY: This is a traditional, family run. 2 Star hotel, in an AMAZING LAKEFRONT LOCATION. Do your research on the hotel before you make a decision to book. If you want air conditioning, sound-proofed rooms, secure on-site parking, and 24-hour room service then the Garni Riviera is unlikely to meet your needs. BUT, if you’re happy to sleep with your balcony doors open (there were NO BUGS OR MOSQUITOS so we found having fresh air rather than aircon a nice experience), have a sense of humour about the noise of the church bells and Italian fun happening in the street below,, are happy to park less than 100-metres away and walk only a few steps back to the hotel and some amazing restaurant and bars, then this hotel will provide happy Italian memories to savour for many years!! I’m writing this review as I head to Como for a €1600 a night 5 Star hotel. This next hotel will naturally beat the Garni Riviera on facilities…but will their SERVICE and WOW FACTOR LOCATION live up to Eduardo and Gianfranco’s?? I sincerely hope so for the €1500 a night price difference!!

Very nice place to stay, historical building in the town. The owners are awesome and very heartwarming. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Beautiful terrazzo with panorama views. Perfect service, perfect location in the centre. I recommend this accommodation for each. Thank you!
