Manhattan Village Hotel

Lovely sized room and bathroom, comfy bed.

There were no vending machines for snacks, chocolates,sweets,drinks etc.

OMG the lovely lady who, when I called from the station organised a taxi to the hotel. And then when I realised I was a little ambitious about public transport given my luggage, again organised a taxi to my dad's home village

there was no kettle

Once arrived at the hotel the guy from the staff said that I would have signed the paper in the morning, he gives me the key-card and I go in my room. During the late evening he came twice knocking at my door saying he needed me to sign the paper. I was already in the bed, I said I'd do it in the morning, he said fine and left... After 15 minutes again. I didn't appreciate it at all. I wanted to sign the paper once arrived, if you tell me to do it in the morning, please don't come bother me because you're not sure of your job.

The location was convenient visiting family nearby. On our driving route. Looked like a newer establishment and the price was reasonable for hotel stay. In middle of a sports facility that has not been maintained however…likely a hotel for sports teams.

When we checked in around 5pm the room temperature was 28C so turned A/C on. After half an hour it didn’t change. Upon leaving to visit family nearby asked reaction time be sure room was cooled down upon our return later in evening. She acknowledged and said ok. Upon return around midnight the room temperature was still 28C. Turn A/C on I hopes it would work. Couldn’t sleep as was like in sauna. At 4am went down to reception. Staff came up to room and said he had one other complaint that night of same. He tried A/C and said it wasn’t working and he was sorry. Asked to move rooms and was told fully booked. He at least offered a fan. Of course we missed breakfast due to not sleeping and driving 5 hrs the next day. When discussed with staff and manager in am was told the whole hotel had a problem because of the storm that night (but it wasn’t working when we arrived) and that there were extra rooms the night staff could have moved us. I had a long discussion (only in Italian as manager said his English was poor) explaining the situation and asking what the hotel was will to do for us. I even suggested whatever they could do would be satisfactory to me and when I suggested a credit as the room was listed with A/C he shrugged his shoulders and said something like of course you want a discount. I left as needed to get to next destination. I left my cell with the manager who said he would speak to his higher up. Have never heard. If the A/C simply worked or they were honest and did what they could would have been acceptable but their disrespect for their guests experience was terrible. Unacceptable and would not recommend this hotel unless you are desperate and accepting of these types of people not truly catering to their guests.

To be told there was no milk for our cereal because they had run out, was not a good morning. The breakfast offerings were ordinary
