"A charming, special place"

An amazing place with such history; if only the walls could talk! We loved the feel of this place and it was buzzing with atmosphere. It was clearly at its peak in the eighties but is still a joy to stay in now. Rooms are generous in size and ours had a lovely balcony in the tree tops. Beds were really comfortable and the room was really clean. Plentiful parking. There was a wedding on when we stayed but they still accommodated us for dinner in a packed restaurant and it was great. Lovely food, full of local families and the waiting staff were without fault; friendly and efficient. Both the meal and the food were great value for money too.

Air con was controlled centrally rather than in the individual room and it switched off overnight when the outside temperature was still 26 degrees; it was still needed in the room and I would have preferred to have control over this myself
