"Hotel is fine, but beware of public transit coverage!"

Close to the shinkansen / train station. Perfectly adequate facilities for the price, although they're aging. Family mart is a 5 minute walk away.

Not a fault of the hotel at all, but if you're staying in tsubamesanjo, do not rely on trains/busses, get a car. The coverage is spotty, and as such tsubamesanjo is not a good base for exploring rural Niigata via public transport, which can be said for the whole prefecture except Niigata city itself.
