Saffron Lake Yala

Spacious room with balcony to have meals in private. Very hearty breakfast, beautifully presented. The only place that serves bacon and eggs instead of the usual frankfurters.

The stay was spoiled by an issue with accommodation for our driver. Apparently, free accommodation for drivers is only provided with direct bookings, and not through Booking.com which charges a 20% fee for the bookings. This should be made clear when enquiries are made.

The cabanas are quite large and equipped with a terrace so you have plenty of room to relax and spend some time. It's quiet and it's got everything that one needs - a good place to rest before and after your safari trip. Be aware that this accommodation might be simpler than others that you might visit in Sri Lanka - it's pretty standard but clean enough

There were too many stray dogs within the cabana compound which made me feel quite uncomfortable

Clean, modern and amazing staff. Helped organise safari for us. Super quiet and peaceful location.

A bit isolated therefore needed to get all your meals from hotel.

Excellent food and helpful staff.

Access to lake was not as expected.

By the Saffron Lake. Comfortable chalets. Umesh was very friendly, and looked after us well.
