Surf Orchid Villa

genuinely kind and welcoming family, spacious and clean room, airconditioning and wifi impeccable. location is close by a beautiful beach, wonderful for sunset or morning stroll!

it’s a shame I didn’t find this place earlier, i would have stayed longer!

The family is super nice. The room is comfortable and clean. Came for 2 days and ended up staying a week.

It is called surf orchid so I was expecting an easy accessible outside shower to clean the board and feet as well as a surf rack, although this is not an absolute necessity

Location - walking distance to beach and quiet

location is great, walking distance to a nice beach. Room was big and clean, Aircon was brilliant. Tables and chairs to sit outside. The host were the nicest we’ve come across in Sri Lanka and we’ve been here for a few months. They were always there to help and they offer to clean the rooms and make breakfast. There’s also a shop that they own next door.

Nothing. Not sure how the last guest have a bad review. we staying at the same time as them and it was perfect for us. So would definitely recommend.

The best thing about this accommodation is the new and good working a/c, always hot water

Noise! The room is located in 10m from the very busy road, so you will be woken up by horning buses starting from 5.30am. No terrace to sit outdoors. There is a table and the chair in front of door, but there is a lot of noise and they don't care about greenery in the yard, so there is only disappointment. Breakfast basically consists of bread. Yes, a lot of food, enough for any adult, but basically it is just bread in different variations. The only thing cooked by the host is banana roti, but it is so tasteless. It is probably the worst breakfast which i got in the same price category within Sri Lanka. The good thing is the fruit which you get. And also when we asked them to decrease the length of the stay because of the facts, they simply pretended that they don't understand any English.

Friendly host, basic room with nice air conditioning.

A child of the host walked into my room as I was unpacking and quickly closed it when he saw me. Also wasn’t aware to go to the shop next door to check-in

We had a very comfortable stay here. The room is nicely furnished and very clean. 3 minute walk from the beach and nice restaurants, yet on a quiet street. Strongly recommend!
